NCT ID NCT07195903
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a minimally invasive procedure to open narrowed veins above the heart in people with orthostatic hypotension or intolerance—conditions that cause dizziness, fainting, or fatigue when standing. 100 adults who haven't improved with standard treatments will receive angioplasty or stenting and be followed for 2 years. The goal is to see if fixing these vein blockages can improve blood pressure control and reduce symptoms.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Venous angioplasty and stenting (jugular vein stenting)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a new treatment option for people with orthostatic intolerance or hypotension who don't get relief from standard medications.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early, single-arm study with no placebo group, so results may be less reliable. The procedure carries risks like bleeding, infection, stroke, or stent problems.
