Can a simple handgrip prevent dizziness when you stand up?

NCT ID NCT06939153

First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at why older adults, especially women, often feel dizzy or faint when standing up due to a drop in blood pressure. Researchers will use a special chamber to safely simulate this drop and measure how the heart and blood vessels communicate. They will also test if squeezing a handgrip can help prevent the blood pressure drop. The goal is to better understand orthostatic intolerance and find simple ways to manage it.
