New blood pressure monitor could replace needles in autonomic testing
NCT ID NCT05977335
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study will test a new device that measures blood pressure and heart function continuously without needles. It will be used during standard autonomic function tests (like the Valsalva maneuver and tilt table) in 75 patients with orthostatic intolerance. The goal is to see if the device gives accurate readings compared to current methods.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Task Force® CORE and Task Force® CARDIO devices
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a more comfortable way to monitor blood pressure and heart function during autonomic tests, replacing invasive methods.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage, small study (75 patients) focused on device accuracy, not treatment. It may not show clear benefits over existing methods.
