First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a sit-stand desk at work can help prevent type 2 diabetes in people who are overweight and sit most of the day. About 198 adults with prediabetes or other risk factors will be randomly assigned to stand 2 or 3 hours daily at their desk, or to a control group. Researchers will measure changes in insulin sensitivity and other health markers over 6 months.
