First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested a new treatment called SR-02, which involves implanting insulin-producing cells into the abdomen of adults with type 1 diabetes who experience dangerously low blood sugar. Participants would need to take lifelong anti-rejection drugs to prevent the body from attacking the implanted cells. The study was withdrawn before enrolling anyone, so no results are available.
