First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tested a new saliva test that looks for DNA from HPV and a related virus to detect HPV-positive throat cancer. Researchers compared results from 360 people—some with cancer and some without—to see how accurate the test is. The goal is to develop a simple, non-invasive way to screen for this type of cancer.
