Can a video call cure your spider fear? new study puts it to the test.
NCT ID NCT07432945
First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study compares two ways to help people with spider phobia: facing a real spider (in-person exposure) or watching someone else do it over a video call (vicarious exposure). About 72 adults with spider fear will be randomly assigned to one of these groups or a waiting list. The goal is to see if the video-based method works as well as the real-life approach in reducing fear and disgust.
