NCT ID NCT07171866

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tested a dental technique called the Socket Shield Technique, where a small piece of the tooth root is left in place after extraction to help preserve the bone and gum around a new dental implant. Researchers compared placing the implant right away versus waiting six months, and followed 25 patients for six years. The goal was to see which approach better maintains the shape and health of the jawbone and gums for a more natural-looking result.
