First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at whether gradually lowering opioid doses over time affects pain, quality of life, and mood in people with chronic non-cancer pain. Eighteen adults on stable opioid therapy were followed to compare slow tapering versus staying on their current dose. The goal was to see if tapering leads to worsening symptoms or if it can be done safely without major downsides.
