Can a simple eye-tracking device replace sleep labs?

NCT ID NCT04583826

First seen Jun 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested a new device called CAVA that records eye movements during sleep. Nine healthy volunteers wore the CAVA device along with standard sleep monitoring equipment in a sleep lab. The goal was to see if CAVA could accurately tell when people are in REM sleep, non-REM sleep, or awake. If it works well, CAVA could become a simple home device for tracking sleep without needing a hospital visit.
