NCT ID NCT05240209
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This completed study tested whether teaching parents about skin cancer, self-exams, and sun protection would improve their children's sun safety. Researchers gave 300 parents of 10-14 year olds either training with brochures or no training. They measured changes in parents' knowledge and reported sun protection behaviors for their children.

What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could help parents adopt better sun protection habits for their children, potentially reducing future skin cancer risk.
What could go wrong
This is a completed educational study, not a treatment trial. It measures knowledge and reported behaviors, not actual skin cancer rates. Results may not apply to all families.
