First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study compares a balloon coated with sirolimus, a drug that helps keep arteries open, to a standard balloon in 1,200 people with peripheral artery disease (PAD) in the leg. The goal is to see if the coated balloon is as good or better at preventing major problems like unplanned amputation or the need for another procedure within a year. Participants are randomly assigned to one of the two treatments during angioplasty.
