Hospital pathways may help kids with asthma, pneumonia, and bronchiolitis get better care
NCT ID NCT05206695
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether a set of care guidelines (called a pathway) could help doctors and nurses in community hospitals use the best treatments for children hospitalized with asthma, pneumonia, or bronchiolitis. Over 11,000 children took part across many hospitals. The goal was to see if the pathway increased the use of proven practices, like giving the right antibiotics for pneumonia or using inhalers for asthma. The study did not test a new drug or treatment, but rather a way to improve how care is delivered.
