First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested a new type of robotic surgery for people with mid or low rectal cancer. The surgery uses a single-port robot to remove the tumor through the anus, aiming to be less invasive. Twenty patients were enrolled to see if the procedure is safe and can be done successfully without switching to open surgery. The results help doctors understand if this technique is a good option for treating rectal cancer.
