Summary

This study follows 158 people who already received the Simplify artificial disc to treat cervical disc disease. Researchers will track how well the disc works over 10 years by measuring neck function, nerve health, and whether any additional surgeries or serious problems occur. The goal is to see if the disc remains safe and effective in the long run.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Simplify Cervical Artificial Disc (a weight-bearing implant with PEEK endplates and a ceramic core)

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could confirm that the Simplify disc provides lasting pain relief and mobility for people with degenerative disc disease in the neck, reducing the need for future surgeries.

What could go wrong

This is a long-term follow-up of an already approved device, not a new treatment. Results may show that some patients still need additional surgery or have implant-related complications over 10 years.
