Shorter radiation course for sarcoma shows promise in new trial

NCT ID NCT07071727

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares two different radiation schedules given before surgery for soft tissue sarcoma. One schedule is 14 sessions over about 3 weeks, and the other is just 5 sessions over about 1 week. The goal is to see if the shorter course causes fewer wound complications after surgery while still controlling the cancer just as well. About 150 adults with intermediate- or high-grade sarcoma in the head, neck, trunk, or limbs will take part.
