First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested if shock wave therapy works better than standard physical therapy for treating partial-thickness burn scars on the forearm. Eighty adults with scars that had been present for at least six months took part. Researchers measured scar thickness and appearance using ultrasound and a scar scale before, after 8 weeks of treatment, and 8 weeks later. The goal was to find a more effective way to improve scar quality and reduce complications.
