Sound waves vs stretching: new hope for burn scar relief

NCT ID NCT07234305

Summary

This study tested if a newer treatment called shock wave therapy works better than standard physical therapy for improving forearm burn scars. 80 adults with scars from partial-thickness burns received one of the two treatments for 8 weeks. Researchers used ultrasound scans and questionnaires to see which treatment better improved scar thickness, appearance, and quality of life.
