First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study explores whether a sham (fake) neurofeedback system in a virtual reality environment can change brain wave patterns related to attention. Researchers will compare positive and negative sham feedback to no feedback in 35 adults with rumination, chronic pain, or fibromyalgia. The goal is to understand how open-loop feedback might influence attentional control, not to provide a treatment.
