First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tests whether SGLT2 inhibitors, drugs already used for diabetes and chronic kidney disease, can help people with acute kidney disease (AKD) recover and avoid progressing to chronic kidney disease. About 264 adults with AKD, with or without diabetes, will receive either the drug or a placebo for several weeks. Researchers will measure changes in urine protein levels and monitor for side effects to see if the treatment is safe and effective.
