10,000 patient records probed to unravel Sepsis-Clot mystery

NCT ID NCT06765681

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study examines medical records from 10,000 people who had sepsis (blood poisoning) and developed dangerous blood clots (VTE) while in the ICU. Researchers want to see how many also had a serious blood disorder called DIC, which can cause clots throughout the body. By looking at past lab results and vital signs, they hope to find patterns that could help doctors predict and prevent these complications in the future. No new treatments or tests are given—only existing data is reviewed.
