First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at medical records from over 5,700 adults in Japan who had sepsis (blood poisoning) to learn how many also developed a serious clotting condition called DIC. Researchers collected information from hospital databases to track DIC rates and the scoring tools doctors use to diagnose it. The goal was to better understand this complication in Japanese hospitals, without changing any patient care.
