Smart bed could help Parkinson's patients regain balance

NCT ID NCT07681609

First seen Jul 02, 2026 · Last updated Jul 07, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests a special bed called SuPerSense that senses how a person lies on it and gives feedback to help improve posture and balance. People with Parkinson's disease who have trouble with balance or posture will either do standard rehab exercises or use the smart bed plus standard rehab. The goal is to see if the smart bed is practical and helps with balance, walking, and back pain.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
SuPerSense sensorized bed
What this could lead to
If effective, this device could improve balance and reduce fall risk in people with Parkinson's disease, offering a new rehab tool.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early feasibility study with only 24 participants, so results may not apply widely. The device is an add-on to standard rehab, not a standalone treatment.
