Weight-Loss drug investigated as potential mood booster

Summary

This study is testing if a weekly injection of semaglutide, a medication known for weight loss, can help improve mood when added to usual depression treatment. It will involve 116 adults with major depression who also have overweight or obesity. Participants will receive either the real medication or a placebo (dummy injection) for 26 weeks to see which group reports better improvement in their depression symptoms.
