First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests whether semaglutide, a once-weekly injection used for weight loss and diabetes, can help improve mood in people with major depression who are also overweight or obese. Over 26 weeks, 116 participants will receive either semaglutide or a placebo, in addition to their usual depression treatment. The main goal is to see if depressive symptoms decrease more with semaglutide than with placebo.
