One-Week semaglutide pause may improve stomach scopes

NCT ID NCT07152756

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study compares two groups of people having an upper endoscopy: those who stopped taking semaglutide (a diabetes/weight-loss drug) for one week before the procedure, and those who never took it. The goal is to see if stopping the drug reduces leftover food or liquid in the stomach and makes it easier for doctors to see the stomach lining. About 418 adults will take part, and researchers will also check for breathing problems during the procedure.
