First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This study tested whether a selenium gel can help treat oral lichen planus, a chronic inflammatory condition that causes painful sores in the mouth. Fifty adults with the condition used either selenium gel, a standard steroid cream, or an immunosuppressant cream. The goal was to see if selenium could work as well as or better than the usual treatments.
