First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study investigated if the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) contributes to inflammation in oral lichen planus, a chronic mouth condition. Researchers measured EBV levels in 13 adults with painful, erosive forms of the disease. The goal was to better understand what causes the condition, not to test a treatment.
