NCT ID NCT07166666
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests two different drug combinations given as a nasal spray to help patients relax during medical procedures. It includes 128 people aged 2 to 60 years old. The goal is to see which approach provides better sedation, faster recovery, and fewer side effects.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Midazolam, fentanyl, and dexmedetomidine (given via nasal spray atomizer)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could show that atomized sedation is a safe and effective option for both children and adults during medical procedures.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial (128 participants) comparing different drugs, so results may not apply to all patients or settings. Side effects like breathing problems or allergic reactions are possible.
