Knee cartilage patch study halted early

NCT ID NCT04537013

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether a special collagen patch (Chondro-Gide) placed over large knee cartilage injuries could help people recover as well as standard microfracture surgery for smaller injuries. The study planned to enroll 82 people aged 18-55 with knee cartilage damage. However, the study was terminated early, so results are limited.
