New study tests sleep and brain training to stop Post-Surgery confusion in older adults

Summary

This study tests a program of sleep improvement, brain exercises, and extended pain relief for older adults having heart surgery. The goal is to reduce confusion and delirium after surgery and improve long-term recovery. About 406 people aged 60 and older will take part, with half receiving the special program and half receiving standard care.
