NCT ID NCT03292601
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a wearable device and smartphone app that track how often and how tightly teens with scoliosis wear their brace. Researchers want to see if giving patients and their families real-time feedback on brace use improves compliance. About 87 adolescents with scoliosis will take part.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
NYRC Brace Scoliosis Monitor (wearable device and smartphone app)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could give doctors and families a reliable way to track brace use and fit, potentially making bracing more effective for scoliosis.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study focused on measurement, not treatment. It may not prove that better monitoring actually improves scoliosis outcomes.
