First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study will compare five versions of a school-based training program to see which best helps teachers recognize and respond to students' mental health needs. About 2,925 public school teachers in Brazil will take part in in-person, online, or self-paced training, with some groups also receiving supervision. Researchers will measure changes in teachers' knowledge, attitudes, and helping behaviors through questionnaires.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show which training format best helps teachers support students' mental health, potentially leading to large-scale programs in schools.

What could go wrong

This is a large but early-stage study measuring knowledge and attitudes, not actual student outcomes. Results may not apply outside Brazil or to all school settings.
