NCT ID NCT07564635
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This pilot study is testing a mental health literacy program for parents and teachers in socially vulnerable schools in Chile and Ecuador. About 200 children in 3rd to 5th grade, along with their parents and teachers, will take part. The program includes workshops for teachers (six sessions) and parents (three sessions) covering topics like anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Researchers will measure changes in children's mental health, adult well-being, and stress levels to see if the approach is feasible and effective.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Mental health literacy training program (behavioral intervention)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that training parents and teachers helps children's mental health and points toward a scalable school-based program.
What could go wrong
This is a small pilot study with no control group randomization at the individual level, so results may not be generalizable. The intervention is brief and may not produce lasting change.
