Glowing dye may help surgeons spot hidden cancer cells during sarcoma removal
NCT ID NCT04719156
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a fluorescent dye called indocyanine green (ICG) can help surgeons see leftover sarcoma cells during tumor removal surgery. About 110 adults with soft tissue or bone sarcoma will receive the dye before surgery, and the surgeon will use a special camera to check if any tumor remains. The goal is to see if this method reduces the chance of the tumor coming back compared to standard practice.
