New inhaler propellant passes first test in healthy volunteers

NCT ID NCT06433908

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested a new version of the propellant used in salbutamol inhalers (a common asthma rescue medication) to see if it delivers the drug similarly to the current propellant. Sixty healthy adults aged 18 to 55 received single doses of salbutamol via both inhaler types. The goal was to compare how much drug gets into the blood and how fast, not to treat any disease.
