First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether a cold water extract from saffron tepals (the flower petals) can improve blood sugar and metabolism after a meal in 20 adults with obesity or prediabetes. Participants drink either the extract or plain water before eating white bread, then have blood tests and metabolism measurements over two hours. The goal is to see if this natural extract can help manage blood sugar spikes.
