Summary
This study is testing a modified, gentler two-step method to prepare patients for a stem cell transplant. The goal is to reduce the risk of death from the transplant procedure itself for people with various blood cancers and disorders. Researchers are comparing two lower-intensity conditioning regimens—one using radiation and one using chemotherapy—before the transplant to see which is safer while still controlling the disease.
