NCT ID NCT05808127
First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested a tool called PainTracker to help doctors guide older adults (65+) who have been on long-term opioid therapy toward safer pain management. The tool asks about a range of pain-related problems, not just opioid misuse, to encourage referrals to non-opioid treatments like physical therapy or mental health care. Over 1,400 patients and 286 doctors took part. The goal was to reduce opioid risks without forcing patients to stop suddenly.
