NCT ID NCT07623629

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study compares four different rinsing tools used after root canal treatment to see which one reduces pain the most. Fifty-two adults with an infected lower back tooth will be randomly assigned to one of four groups. They will rate their pain at several times over two days and record how many painkillers they take. The goal is to find a simple way to make root canals more comfortable.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

root canal treatment with different final irrigation methods (standard needle, vibration device, vacuum device, or combination)

What this could lead to

If one rinsing method works better, dentists may adopt it to make root canals less painful for patients.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 52 people, so results may not apply to everyone. Pain is subjective and hard to measure precisely.
