First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests a drug called romiplostim given before heart surgery to people with low platelet counts. The goal is to see if it can raise platelet levels enough to make surgery safer and reduce the need for blood transfusions. About 136 adults will take part, and half will get the drug while the other half gets a placebo.
