Immune cell clues could unlock new treatments for painful skin disease
NCT ID NCT07388446
First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looks at whether special immune cells, called MAIT cells, play a role in hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), a chronic skin condition causing painful boils. Researchers will compare blood and skin samples from 45 adults with HS to those with other skin diseases. The goal is to understand the disease better and find markers that predict which biologic treatments work best. Participants receive standard care, and no new treatment is tested.
