Summary

This study will look at the medical records of 918 adults who had planned heart surgery to find out what increases or decreases the chance of developing atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat) after the operation. The goal is to identify risk factors and protective factors, including newer anesthesia techniques, to help prevent this common complication.
