First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at 330 adults with a serious heart valve infection (prosthetic valve endocarditis) caused by S. aureus bacteria. It compares the standard approach of giving the antibiotic rifampin against not giving it, to see if skipping it is just as safe and effective. The goal is to reduce unnecessary side effects while still controlling the infection.
