New imaging study reveals how glaucoma drug works inside the eye
NCT ID NCT07588152
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study uses special cameras to take detailed pictures of the eye's drainage system in people with glaucoma or high eye pressure. Half of the 50 participants will use Rhopressa eye drops daily for two weeks, while the other half will use artificial tears. The goal is to see if Rhopressa changes the structure of the drainage tissue, which may explain how it lowers eye pressure.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Netarsudil ophthalmic solution (Rhopressa)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this study could help explain how Rhopressa lowers eye pressure, potentially leading to better treatments for glaucoma.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-phase imaging study, not a large trial testing long-term outcomes. The results may not directly translate to better patient care.
