One-Week radiation may cut lymphedema risk in breast cancer patients

NCT ID NCT04228991

First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study compares a 1-week radiation treatment to the standard 3-week schedule for women with node-positive breast cancer after surgery. The goal is to see if the shorter course is just as effective at preventing cancer from coming back while reducing the risk of lymphedema (arm swelling). About 588 participants will be followed for outcomes like recurrence, survival, and quality of life.
