App may cut hospital trips for lung transplant patients
NCT ID NCT05916495
First seen Apr 23, 2026 ยท Last updated Apr 23, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether lung transplant patients could use a smartphone app and a home breathing test to replace some routine hospital check-ups. 76 patients were split into two groups: one received standard care, the other used the app to track symptoms and lung function at home. Researchers compared the number of clinic visits and costs between the groups to see if remote monitoring is a safe and effective alternative.
