Fitbits and phones fight hospital returns after cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT06397040

Summary

This study tested whether remote monitoring could help patients recover better at home after major bladder cancer surgery. Researchers gave some patients a Fitbit and used a smartphone app for daily check-ins, with the goal of spotting health issues early. If the system detected a problem, it alerted the care team right away so they could respond quickly, hoping to prevent serious complications and return trips to the hospital.
