Heart monitor trial aims to catch hidden dangers after fainting
NCT ID NCT05066347
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tests whether a 15-day remote heart monitor can find dangerous heart rhythms in people who fainted and were sent home from the emergency room. About 580 adults at medium or high risk will be randomly assigned to the monitor or usual care. The goal is to see if longer monitoring catches more treatable heart problems than the standard 24-72 hour Holter test.
