First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This pilot study tested whether remote smartphone tests of thinking, memory, and motor function can identify older adults who may be vulnerable to cognitive problems after spine surgery. 34 participants completed the tests before surgery, and researchers tracked who developed postoperative delirium. The goal was to see if remote testing could help target cognitive care pathways.
