NCT ID NCT06995196
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a smartphone app called ReLiver-N designed to help people with liver cirrhosis take a more active role in their care. The app provides health education, self-management tools, and a system to flag urgent issues. Researchers enrolled 48 patients with mild to moderate cirrhosis and randomly assigned them to use the full app or just the educational content. The goal was to see if the app improves patients' ability to manage their condition, their confidence, and their quality of life over 90 days.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
ReLiver-N App (mobile health application with education, activation, and clinical decision support)
What this could lead to
If successful, this app could provide a low-cost, scalable way to help liver cirrhosis patients better manage their health and reduce hospital readmissions.
What could go wrong
This is a small, single-blind study with only 48 participants. The app's benefits may not be large or lasting, and results may not apply to all cirrhosis patients.
