Heart-Shaping device could offer new hope for heart failure patients

NCT ID NCT06813820

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a device called the Revivent System, which places small implants on the outside of the heart to reshape it and improve its pumping ability. About 135 people with heart failure and a damaged left ventricle will be randomly assigned to get the device plus standard care, or standard care alone. Researchers will check safety at 30 days and effectiveness at 1 year, looking at symptoms, walking ability, and heart function.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ€” not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Revivent System (a device that places permanent implants on the heart to reshape it)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a less invasive way to improve heart function and quality of life for people with heart failure.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, early-stage trial (135 people) and the device involves permanent implants with risks like infection or bleeding. It may not prove better than standard care.
